At the eve of the most festive times of the year, we all witness the transformation of usually plain boring commercial spaces into shiny Christmas fairy-tales. Even if we are too obsessed with our everyday thoughts and forget about the approaching shopping spree, the new luscious attire of the biggest shopping centers and malls suddenly wake us up into reality. One elusive thought keeps buzzing at the back of our minds: How could this overwhelming transformation possibly happen overnight? The answer is simple – with the help of professionals. The Venue

The stage of the recent subtle yet essential performance of Xpress Mover’s professional team was Burlington Mall, located at 75 Middlesex Turnpike, Burlington, MA. The venue serves the Boston metro area and features 185 shops, including The Apple Store, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Microsoft and the likes. The exact location of the performance, was the expansive Food Court, featuring many grab and go options.
But what exactly was the role of our well-trained team of movers in this picture?
The Job
Located on the second floor, the Food Court of Burlington Mall and its establishments: Appleseed Crepe & Bread, Charley’s Philly Steaks, Chick-Fil-A, Subway, Regina Pizzeria, Big Easy Cajun, Gourmet India, Maki of Japan, Master Wok, Ruby Thai Kitchen, Shot Cakes, and Sushi Cafe needed to undergo a reconstruction – the old furniture had to be replaced with new, before the very start of the holiday shopping fever. New pieces of custom-made furniture, 400 pounds and 8-12 feet long, had to be unloaded from the moving truck, lifted straight up to the second level of the mall and then carried 600 feet to their designated places. The subcontractor, an interior design company, contacted Xpress Movers, and entrusted the completion of this paramount task to our experienced team.
The Implementation
All pieces of furniture were handled with the greatest care, ensuring they are intact and placed into their position without a scratch.
The whole process was meticulously planned ahead. There was no room for error – even the slightest mistake would put the renovation project into jeopardy. The whole job was split into three separate unload-lift-move stages, accomplished in three consecutive nights – from 9 p.m. till 2 a.m., a total of 12 working hours. After unloading every heavy piece of furniture, it was lifted to the second floor using a scissor lift. No easy task, when you consider the deck of the lift is seven feet off of the floor. Then it had to be transferred over the railings and moved to their permanent location with the assistance of a moving dolly. All pieces were handled flawlessly and carefully, ensuring a successful operation.
